2017! Update

I am alive folks.  Been crazy busy with work and have not made much time for this blog nor my artwork!

I have been working a little side gig for a logo creation with a company start up so stay tuned for that!

I am trying to make some moves at the end of this year in regards to a side hustle becoming my full time hustle but we shall see where this year takes me.  I am working on making my life and all aspects happier and healthier.

2017 is going to be a good year I tell ya. :)

Happy Belated New Year!

Well it has been a great year so far and a mild winter here in Pittsburgh.  I am thankful for that as I heard from my family that back in Virginia they got hit HARD in January with the snow.  I also got to celebrate my first St. Patty's Day in the 'burgh.  It was a lot of fun and the festivities seemed to start a week before the actual day!  They are said to be the second largest parade in the country and I'd say that is pretty accurate.

I have also been catching up on some reading from my dad's new book, which can be found here.  And this awesome book by Nicole Lapin that I have been raving about called Rich Bitch.  It has definitely helped me lock down my finances - which you're never too old or young to do.

On another note, I have been working hard on snagging a job.  Got a few temp positions which have provided the income I need so that is good.  One job that I contracted, through this awesome website called Upwork, was to re-design a Brewery's logo.  The client really helped me hone in on my designing capabilities and I learned a lot throughout the process.  I am hoping to get more gigs like this in the future to further develop these skills and to learn more about the design capabilities of the Adobe programs I have.   Here are some of the mock-ups I made for the client (Rights Reserved):

Well that is all for now!

Arts n' Crafts for Yinz

Greetings Yinz! (Pittsburgh lingo)
I am settled in my new home in the heart of Pittsburgh and have loads of time on my hands to get creative.  The place is mostly decorated minus a few odds and ends but that can be on hold until the job situation is figured out.  In the mean time I have been knees deep in arts and crafts!  Check out some creations below :)
Handmade Necklaces for Christmas Gifts

Christmas gifts are about complete and I loved digging deep into my creative side this year.  I created some Nautical necklaces for some of my friends and family who are into these types of jewelry pieces.

I also just painted this colorful rooster last night!  I painted it for my future mother-in-law who LOVEEESSSS rooster.  Hope she likes it!!

New Times, New Vibes

October 30, 2015

It has been awhile since my last post so I thought I would update!  A lot has changed since my college days and I have definitely molded into a woman that is ready for the next step in her career...

I am currently in transition and moving from the only home city I've know, NoVa (Northern Virginia) to the artsy city Pittsburgh, PA.  The first time I visited Pittsburgh was this year and I fell in looooveee.

I fell in love with the cobblestones, painted walls, and the quaint feel of this city.  The photo I took (above) is a good representation of the initial vibes I received from Pittsburgh.  It is much different than the hustle-bustle, never sleep city of Washington, DC.  I love how you can be driving through the countryside one moment and in the heart of the city the next!  The culture is different, the people are different (and nicer!) and everything just seemed so easy to "fit in".  I will be a permanent resident beginning this November and I am excited to explore every greek place, art museum, and artsy fartsy bar.

Not too long ago I decided to break out my paint and brushes to paint this photo.  I had this craving to get creative.  I have been drawing since I could pick up a writing utensil so this feeling had been aching inside me to get out.  I painted this photo because of it's architectural design, the colors, and the feeling of "city-life on a Sunday".  It's darkness is appealing to me and the lines are great.  It was a little challenging, not having painted, let alone drawn, in 3 years but it was so therapeutic.  I will definitely be doing it again soon!

Here you go!
