2D Drawing class

Opossum skull. Medium: Charcoal

2D Drawing Class

Just a sketch!  Possible idea and inspiration for the piece below!

"The Crooked Mermaid".  Medium: Charcoal
Project from Spring 2D Drawing class. ( Feb 2011)

2D Drawing Class

My first attempt at doing the body form in the medium of charcoal.

The two pieces on the left and the piece on the bottom are the beginning projects that I did in my 2011 Spring 2D Drawing class.  The mediums in the two left pieces are done in charcoal.  The bottom piece was my very first project done with charcoal.  The project was to turn a "bad" drawing into a "good" drawing.  Oil pastels are the colored shapes mixed with charcoal.
These pieces are all 11" x 17".

2D Design Class

This is my Final art project for my 2010 Fall semester class in 2-D Design.  It is an abstract western design which incorporates all of the techniques and requirements that I learned in the class.  There is use of prismatic and monochromatic colors along with the basic primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.  There are effects of layering which I have represented here with the western diamonds going horizontally across and the light "squiggles" in the three different places on the piece.  This was all done with acryllic paint.  Overall it is one of my favorite pieces up to date!

2D Design Class

One of my projects was to pick a toy and draw it in different perspectives, abstractly, and in different techniques.
Part 1:

Top photo: Done with parallel lines.  Left photo: Abstract movement of Spongebob's eyes and weights.  Right photo: Top view with minimum line.  Bottom photo: Cut out black paper overlayed upon white bristol.

Part 2: Top photo: Side view done in pointillism. Bottom three photos: How to work the Spongebob toy done with minimum line.

Close up view of Spongebob in pointillism. (My favorite)
